Mother and child are now home from the hospital. Little Matthew passed all of his tests with flying colors! Here are some more pictures taken today:
Matthew has a bit of a rash. It's already almost cleared up, though.
Awwww... look at that adorable mug!
Mother and child, shortly after bringing him home.
Time to rest. It's been a whirlwind for three days.

something I forget to mention, be sure to watch out for thrush (in baby) and/or yeast on the nipples (in mom) from the antibiotics given in labor. Since the routine use for Group B strep started a few years ago, we have seen a virtual epidemic of yeast causing breastfeeding problems.
BTW - in my practice, if the mom got two doses of antibiotics prior to birth, we don't make her or the baby stay the full 48 hours. It is offered as an option. Also we don't routinely do the blood cultures, only on babies whose moms didn't have a long enough labor to get treated.
Many, many congratualtions!!! I am VERY happy for the three of you. Chris, you made me tear up in talking about Jenny...it's beautiful.
With love
My oh my! Congrats on the birth of your beautiful son, Chris and Jenny. Happy Father's Day, Chris! I pray that the Lord will bless you both as parents and your son in all of his adventures through life. God Bless always!
In Christ,
Pete Zorjan
Congratulations!! I'm so happy for both of you! I can't wait to meet Matthew in July! God bless all three of you. I love your "family portrait", you all look so joy-filled!
Praise God for His many wonders!
Hello Lugardo family! Congratulations! We are so happy for you. Wait to go Jenny - I'm glad you were able to have a natural child birth. All the pain, discomfort, and fatigue is definitely worth it in the long run.
Make sure to get rest when you can and take good care of each other. I hope we get to meet Matthew when we come back to C-U to visit.
in Christ,
The Kreps (Chris, Britta and Grace)
Yay!!! Beautiful baby, for a beautiful family :).
Love you tons, can't wait to see you.
