Having a family "seems to have become an abstract idea"
BERLIN (AFP) - Germans have stopped having children -- and the number of couples opting for a childless life is rising every year to the consternation of politicians and employers in the eurozone's biggest economy.

Voila: the end result of separating sex from babies.

I find it interesting that one of the reasons given by a woman who didn't want to have children was that she couldn't imagine herself becoming financially dependent upon someone else. In a world of ever-rising divorce rates, is it unreasonable for her to be afraid of that kind of commitment and dependency? And the cycle continues... :(
